Rep. Greene loved the golf tournament atmosphere financed by the regime behind the murder of journalists

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) gushed in an interview Monday about the less “tense” atmosphere of the controversial LIV Golf tournament sponsored by the Saudi regime that ordered journalists Jamal Khashoggiis a gruesome murder.

“It was fantastic!” Greene was delighted after make the scene Saturday (along with Fox News host Tucker Carlson) with former president Donald TrumpBedminster National Golf Club in New Jersey.

“The LIV tournament was so much fun. Music was heard all over the golf course. People had an absolute blast. It wasn’t the stiff, tense, you know, kind of snobbish vibe at the PGA tournament,” she said. The Washington Examiner. “It was just downright fun.”

The tournament crowd was sparse and tickets reportedly went for as little as $1. But Trump supporters managed to turn the action into a… mini Trump campaign eventat one point chanting, “Four more years.”

The LIV tournament series is funded by Saudi Arabia’s Sovereign Wealth Fund, chaired by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman. US intelligence has determined that he was responsible for the mutilation and brutal murder of Khashoggi in 2018, writing for The Washington Post, in the wake of his criticism of the Saudi government.

The Saudis have been too in connection with the 9/11 terrorist attacks in the US – including a number of times by Trump himself.

Furious families of 9/11 victims and survivors last week demanded that Trump refuse to host the tournament. They held a protest rally Friday in the town of Bedminster, just 50 miles from where terrorists flew hijacked planes to the World Trade Center in Manhattan.

Juliette Scauso, whose firefighter father Dennis Scauso died in the 9/11 attacks, turned to Trump and asked, “How much money does it cost? to turn your back on your country, the American people?”

Critics have complained that the tournaments are a blatant attempt at so-called Saudi Arabia’s “Sport Washing” to Clean Its Ties to Atrocities and human rights violations.

Still, the former president of “America first” loves the LIV events and has called the money behind the operation a “gold rush,” urging golfers to take advantage of and avoid America’s own PGA events.

President Joe Biden was punished last month for “punching his fist” on the crown prince during a visit to Saudi Arabia. But lawmakers have said nothing about Trump and golfers handling Saudi money. Trump has emerged as the foremost pitchman in America for the lucrative tournaments.

Critics on Twitter weren’t about to let Greene get away with her short-sighted review of the event.
